How Do I Find Better Clients?
Every recruiter asks the question above but it should be “How do I help better clients find me?”
Have you ever wonder if all clients behave in the same way.
That they want to squeeze the budget yet maximize the output from you.
The latter is always true but not necessarily the former.
Clients are people and there are smart, honorable folks out there who knows value when they see it.
Are you providing value?
Here is the quickest litmus test.
Do you consult or do you follow instructions?
Most recruiters I coached do this one thing very well - they take instructions from their clients and they put their life on the line trying to fulfill it.
It is not difficult to understand why most came away being solely disappointed.
They are working against market reality.
Clients don’t know better when they provide a meagre budget and ask for a rockstar.
Your value shines through when you deliver the punch that jolts them into reality.
When you are able to do that for your clients, you move into high ticket consulting mode because you truly know what it takes to fulfil that mandate rather than testing your luck with the rest.
The reason why you know this yet can’t do it is because of fear of losing clients.
And here’s the conclusion. Those clients whom you can’t reason with are not categorically the “better clients” you have been searching for.
p.s. The questions you asked reveal your true value. Work on better questions and you will attract better clients.
