Cold DMs?
Yes, that’s right. Some of my best clients were acquired through cold DMs.
How could that be? Cold DMs are as cold as they get.
This is my secret sauce and over the years, I figure out the logic behind it and thus I’m sharing it because it works.
No one likes cold DMs.
Try writing to HR or any potential hiring manager on LinkedIn and it is likely to end up as ignored content.
The “trick” is to know who are the targets. Not everyone will respond to a cold DM. 99% won’t.
Who’s the 1%?
I’m sharing this 6-figure secret because that’s what a cold DM did for my revenue. It brought in over $100,000 under a year.
For the best hit rate, you should do a search of HR or hiring managers who just joined a new company. To be more specific, they just joined the new company about 1 to 2 months.
If you are curious about the reason, here’s the logic.
When someone joined a new company, there is a high tendency for them to start afresh. They are excited about the new possibilities, and within that spirit of trying new things, they are also much more open to working with new vendors with no strings attached and that’s where you come in.
Exact step: You send a congratulatory note to your identified HR/hiring manager on their new appointment and offer them your recruitment services. Use ChatGPT to draft one if you are struggling with it. It doesn’t have to be fanciful, but keep it concise. The rules of email etiquette applies.
You won’t get a 10/10 but the acceptance rate will be higher and those that reply actually do want to work with you.
Few recruiters do this. Instead, they just cold DM everyone until LinkedIn bans them for a week. This leads to mental health issue and burnout.
Now that you know this secret, apply it and start getting some serious leads.
